Grades 7-12: Teens will learn about the life and work of Black artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, then create their own work of art.
Artist Jean-Michel Basquiat created a large body of impactful work during his short life. He represented his experiences and emotion through bold artwork that drew attention to the dichotomies of the Black experience. Teens will learn about Basquiat's life and work, then create art in his style to share a part of their own life experience.
